Bulls finish strongly
Queensland has kept NSW anchored to the bottom of the Ford Ranger Cup table after pulling off an against-the-odds win over the Blues at the SCG.
Defending a meagre 177 after being bowled out earlier in the day, the Bulls bowlers rallied to rout a disappointing NSW for just 153 inside 45 overs.
Chris Swan led the way with 3-28, ably supported by James Hopes (2-33) and Chris Simpson (2-32).
The hosts appeared to be chasing the bonus point – or trying to beat the predicted showers – in setting about their task in aggressive fashion.
Wickets were lost to careless shots at regular intervals, leaving Queensland well positioned to defend its modest tally and inflict the third defeat of NSW's forgettable FRC campaign.
