Black Caps dominating Aussies
New Zealand has continued to apply the screws in a one-sided second session on day one of the 3 Mobile Test at the Gabba, claiming four key wickets to see Australia reduced to a modest 7-152.
A defiant Michael Clarke (60 not out) is the unbeaten man at the crease for the home side after keeper Brad Haddin fell cheaply to Jesse Ryder on the last ball before the break.
Slow and steady was the order of the day for the Australian batsmen after Tim Southee had rocked Australia's top order to see the home side reduced to 3-60 at lunch.
Clarke obliged, with the patient vice-captain notching a mature half-century, while Mike Hussey (35), Andrew Symonds (26), Shane Watson (one) and Haddin (six) all offered limited resistance.
Hussey had looked the goods before he was trapped lbw by Chris Martin when he shouldered arms to a ball that pitched outside the line of off stump.
Symonds took a more direct approach in his return to the national side after a three-month absence for disciplinary reasons.
