Gambhir ban standsThe International Cricket Council have confirmed Gautam Gambhir's one-match ban will stand, despite the Board of Control for Cricket in India's belief that the outcome of his appeal was 'pre-decided'.
The batsman was handed the ban by match referee Chris Broad following an incident during the third Test between India and Australia, in which Gambhir appeared to elbow Australia all-rounder Shane Watson while taking a run.
Gambhir appealed the decision, but that was rejected by Justice Albie Sachs, a judge appointed by the ICC, on Tuesday.
The BCCI wrote to ICC president David Morgan to register their objection as they were unhappy Gambhir was not given a personal hearing.
